Along the Varisian Gulf, a stone’s throw from the mysterious city of Magnimar, lies the coastal town of Sandpoint. However, not everything is as idyllic as it seems. Secrets have a way of making themselves known and nothing is safe from the growing evil. An attack by crazed goblins during the annual Swallowtail Festival quickly turns into something more ominous as the shadows of a dark past come back to haunt the town—and perhaps all of Varisia.
From the sleepy town to an ancient lost city at the top of the world, Rise of the Runelords takes a party of adventurers from 1st to over 18th level and delves into the mysteries of Varisia’s ancient past. Millennia ago, the powerful empire of Thassilon ruled the land, dominated by despotic runelords who maintained their power through harnessing the power of rune magic. Thought gone forever, the workings of Thassilon are not so far beneath the surface and one of the runelords plans a return. Only the brave adventurers stand in his way.
Welcome to your new campaign! The anniversary edition of Paizo’s Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path, the first campaign created for the Pathfinder game over 5 years ago. The party has been invited, and your attendance over the course of the next 18+ levels of your character is most certainty welcome at the table.
